The Women Empowerment Conference hosted by the Center for Nutrition & Education of Children Foundation (CNECOF) took place on the 22nd and 23rd of September 2024. This impactful event was organized by CAFO (Christian Alliance for Orphans) and aimed at empowering women through education, skill development, and advocacy for gender equality.
The two-day conference brought together women from various backgrounds, especially those in vulnerable communities, to explore ways to enhance their socio-economic status. Participants included religious leaders, educators, business leaders, social workers, and women from marginalized groups, all committed to creating lasting change.
The conference featured discussions on Gender Equality and Women’s Rights Advocacy. Inspirational speakers shared their stories of child-protection, overcoming adversity, calling for stronger support systems and more inclusive policies for women so they can extend it to their families. A call to action for more investment in women's empowerment, tying the efforts to SDG 5.
Throughout the conference, participants expressed gratitude for the opportunity to connect, learn, and inspire one another. Many shared their desire to continue working towards building sustainable livelihoods for themselves and their families.
This event not only celebrated the strength of women but also highlighted the need for continuous efforts to break the cycle of poverty and inequality, showing that empowered women can uplift entire communities.
